How it works

From an authorised session to cited notes

A clear data flow: connect, detect, process, align, generate — with the working shown at every step.

  1. 1. Connect an authorised session

You link your own already-authenticated learning-platform session through an approved integration. OliveAI never asks for or stores your university password, and it only ever sees what you can already see.

  2. 2. New material is detected automatically

Instead of repetitive manual uploads, OliveAI notices new recordings, slides, files, dates, and announcements as they appear — and records each source with a version and hash so unchanged content is never reprocessed.

  3. 3. Documents are extracted; audio is transcribed

Slides, PDFs, and documents are extracted with their page/slide numbers preserved. Lecture audio is transcribed with word-level timestamps. Raw audio is deleted after successful transcription by default.

  4. 4. Transcript and slides are aligned

The recording and its slide deck are lined up so they're understood together — what the lecturer said next to the slide they were showing.

  5. 5. Notes and study tools appear — with citations

Structured notes, study guides, and grounded answers are generated, each linked back to the source slide page or recording timestamp. AI explanation and uncertain transcription are clearly labelled.

  6. 6. Coverage stays inspectable

The coverage ledger shows every discovered source, its processing state, and where it was used — so completeness is something you can check, not something you have to trust.

OliveAI is an independent product and is not affiliated with or endorsed by any university.

Try it with fictional data

The same surfaces you'd use day to day — none of this is real student data.
